Courtship on TV

The themes of courtship and love are everywhere on TV. No matter what show you are watching, or what commercials may be on, there is always some aspect of love involved. Love can be on anything from a reality show, sitcom, the news, and even in sports. I can’t deny that I myself don’t watch and enjoy these shows because, let’s face it, I’m a typical college girl and I love romantic, cheesy, unrealistic love stories. I think that the reason I, and others like me watch these shows is because we think, maybe subconsciously, that if there is a chance for people on TV to live the perfect love story and be happy, that there is a chance for us to have that kind of life too. Even though we know that it may be unrealistic, corny, or whatever else, we get pleasure in watching good things happen to other people and maybe envision that it is us on the TV instead. (Either that, or we are jealous that it is them and not us.)

There are many different choices of subtopics within the broad genre of courtship on TV, and I am new at this whole blog thing, so I’m not quite sure what I want to focus on quite yet. I guess I will just have to do a lot of TV watching to figure out what I want to concentrate on. Until we meet again.
